The drink was born at the 19th hole in the 1950's
Long before zero-proof had a shelf of its own, Scottish clubhouses already had an answer. John Panton, a Pitlochry-born pro who played in three Ryder Cups and later served as honorary professional to the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, wanted something he could order after a round without giving up his edge for the next one.
Ginger beer for the bite. A splash of lime cordial. A dash of bitters around the glass. Popularized in the early 1950s on his travels with Irish golfer Harry Bradshaw, the drink took his name, and golfers have been asking for "a John Panton" at the 19th hole ever since.
Drew and Travis grew up playing golf, and fell in love with that bold flavor profile after living in London for 5 years. What they wanted was a similar drink with a modern edge: functional ingredients that keep you sharp from the first tee all the way to the kid's bedtime.
The founders Story
And made the perfect beverage...
Drew and Travis quit drinking, but kept living the sporting life. What they couldn't find was a drink that belonged there: something with the bite of a John Panton, built for the round, the boat, and the blind, and was good enough to hand a friend.
Standing at the turn, it hit us: the 'adult' option was always alcohol and the 'healthy' option was always boring. Nobody had built anything for the person who wanted neither.
So we made a functional seltzer with an actual point of view, for the life we love to live. And we know we're not the only ones.
